An important breakthrough in fMRI research

A friend sent me this piece from the Guardian reporting on new ways that neuro-types are exploring to better understand their tools, which, it appears, have been as opaque to them as they are to the rest of us. It seems that we will soon get to the bottom of how these damn things work.
